Bought a new toy yesterday

Taurus PT145 Millennium Pro. The magazine holds 10 rounds of 45 ACP. 2 magazines, 3.25 barrel and its just about the same size as my S&W Bodyguard. $403.00 total price including tax and transfer. Now I have to buy a couple more thousand rounds of .45 and a new holster (and maybe a Laser sight)!!!

The guy with the most toys in the end, wins !

And they're the right toys, that's why you win.... And if that's the case, my money's on MM being one of the last one's standing.

Nice pick-up, MM. Looks like you got a good deal.

In the begining, you got your shots in your end.

Well first it holds 10 rounds of REAL knock down power, with 10 more just seconds away in the other mag. Second, it's NOT a Glock (I do not follow the crowd, ever), Third it is about the same size as my "Bodyguard" and smaller than the Glock. Fourth, I've had dealings with Taurus warrantee before and they treated me like a king. Fifth, It feels good in my hand, it has a large grip, fit just right. Sixth, it is a double action. The first time you pull the trigger it's DA, if for some reason it doesn't fire on the first pull (Bad or hard primer) you can pull the trigger again and again till it fires. It also has an internal firing pin block. And most important of all, It's cute!

Nope, the guy that pays attention to his surroundings, picks his fights and flies under the radar, combined with firearm proficiency, the will to fight and kill, and no fear of death is the winner in the end. Then when it's all over, you can collect more toys!

Not sure of yours....my father had an early one.....you could half engage the safety and still fire....busting the safety off, who knows if the gun would still function if this happened.

No reason for an external safety on a DAO pistol......

We were not impressed with the design. But in terms of size and feel...fantastic. Taurus came out with a revision....but the old design we are stuck with it.....we may simply remove this "safety" feature.....kind of sucks on our end.

Yes there were some problems with the first and second-generation pistols. I waited till Taurus worked out the problems. Mines the third generation.

The style and size are great...and other than the safety lever issue on my dads...great pistol....really nothing like it in terms of size and capacity. Fits folks with big paws very well.

A compact 45ACP is a lot of firepower. 45ACP +P is 525 ft lbs of energy in a 185grain JHP....that is 357 Mag country....with 10+1 thats like having 2 x 6 shot 357 mag revolvers!!!!!

45ACP +P, 357 Mag, 44 Special, Full Power 45 Colt....these are my #1 choice in manstoppers.....they are all about equal and all very powerful...but managable.

I have a 3rd gen 9mm and love it. Some talk down the Taurus but I think they make a good weapon at a good price. Congrats on the new gun.

So you think Glocks are junk and you go out and buy a Taurus?? :confused_ma: Good grief mtnman! Oh well, to each his own.

Congrats and I hope it serves you well.

Oh, btw, did you make it over to the gun show this weekend? The only thing I bought was 2000 small pistol primers and 150 rds. of Guat 5.56.

They were $5/100, $45/1000 and he let me have 2000 for $80. No tax or shipping or hazmat fees. Yeah, I know, still too high.

Thats too bad for you. This limits you to S&W who sold out the American gun owning public back when Clinton was President. Then there's Bill Ruger of Ruger Firearms who sold out the American gun owning public by siding with the gun ban crowd in trying to ban high capacity magazines.
But then you could buy a Barrett .50 but thats kinda hard to conceal. Or maybe a Colt, the company that no longer sells to the public. Or maybe North American Arms, a good company but tiny guns. Or Winchester who last time I looked was out of business. Or Remington but they only sell rifles. Or Henry and once again they only sell rifles.

I had a Millenium Pro in 9mm and traded the POS as fast as my legs would carry me to the gun show for a Marlin 30-30 instead....

BMWs are made in South Carolina but that doesn't make it American. Hell, buying "American" doesn't mean sheet anymore. Some Fords are made in Mexico.:10_1_19:
